A commonnly requested upgrade for first-generation Honda Insight owners is adding rear speakers. But when I went looking for original rear speaker baskets for my own car, I quickly discovered they were hard to find and often cost over $200 – just for a set of plastic rings.
Instead of hunting for used parts, I decided to design my own.
These custom rear speaker baskets are 3D printed to fit perfectly into the rear bulkhead of the Insight. They use the original mounting locations, so there’s no need to cut or modify your car. They fit the OEM grills used in the door panels, but I also designed my own with increased clearance for larger speakers.
I love how they keep a clean factory look. I printed them in a dark grey ABS that is a close match for the original plastics. Unless you look closely, they look OEM.
