I got tired of my LiDisplay being secured to the dash with tape, so I designed the mount I’d been envisioning for months. The result is a clean, sturdy solution that allows you to install either a 20×4 character display or a Nextion-based LiDisplay in the G1 Honda Insight.
The design uses the existing factory plug location on the dashboard, so no drilling or permanent modifications are needed. It attaches securely with the original screw and provides a solid mounting platform that looks integrated with the interior.
There are two configurations available: one for the 20×4 display included with LiBCM, and one for the LiDisplay Nextion screen. The printed parts include provisions for routing the wiring neatly behind the dash so there are no exposed wires.
The mount and case are printed in ABS that can withstand being baked in a hot car. The design also keeps the display at a comfortable viewing angle without interfering with other controls.
